We are all aware that heat rises. So, it only stands to reason that the loft of your home can provide an effective thermal barrier if it contains modern insulation materials. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Many properties throughout the United Kingdom are losing a great deal of heat due to outdated loft insulation. There are several signs which could indicate that a problem may exist. Exorbitant energy bills, draughts, high levels of moisture, and lofts that have become noticeably cold are some common examples. This is why there has never been a better time than the present to consult with our professional loft insulation installers.
How We Help
First and foremost, our highly qualified surveyors can visit your home for free at a time and date to suit you. During this free survey, our team will be able to recommend energy saving measures and ascertain whether you and your property is eligible for grants funded by the UK government.
What is the Purpose of Loft Insulation?
Some homeowners will be surprised to learn that more than 60% of interior heat can be wasted as a result of poorly insulated walls and lofts. To put this into perspective, you could be losing more than £200 every year. This is even more concerning if you happen to live within a colder portion of the United Kingdom. The good news is that Installers UK provides nationwide loft insulation services. There are still a handful of other reasons why now may be a great time for an upgrade.
Loft Insulation Funding
Once you get the green light and your grant application is successful, our approved insulation installers can transform the energy efficiency of your home, with the highest standards of workmanship. All our installations are monitored by Kiwa’s cavity wall scheme, ensuring all materials and installers are suitable for your property.
The Relationship Between a Loft Conversion and Roof Insulation
Loft conversions are excellent ways to add value to your home and to make the most out of its living space. Still, a chilly loft is far from comfortable. This is why a loft conversion and roof insulation will often enjoy a hand-in-hand relationship. Properly insulating your loft will ensure that it remains cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

The Power of Government Grants
The only problem is that you may be dealing with a tight budget. Or, perhaps you are already receiving some form of government assistance. In either of these cases, committing out-of-pocket funds to new insulation may be out of the question. This is why the government has put together aid packages such as the ECO scheme and the LA FLEX programmes. Both of these are intended to help homeowners make ends meet during an installation. Not only can you finally obtain the insulation within your loft that is required, but your entire home will become more energy efficient. Our loft insulation installers are always here to help.
The UK’s insulation grants, such as ECO scheme, are government schemes funded by the UK’s largest utility companies, including the so-called ‘Big Six’. These companies are duly obliged to offer grants that can help those in need to enhance the energy efficiency of their homes for good, without costing you a penny.
The grants available with the ECO scheme and LA Flex funding tend to cover many different types of insulation, depending on your property age and type. This includes cavity wall and loft insulation, as well as first time central heating and boiler replacements.
How is the Boiler Grant free?
New A-rated boiler grants are also offered as part of the ECO scheme, helping households with the opportunity for inefficient boilers to be replaced completely free of charge, or heavily subsidised.
Providing your boiler is more than five-years-old or deemed as faulty and a homeowner, you should be eligible for a new A-rated boiler, installed by Registered GAS SAFE and Governments Trustmark installer and will come with a guarantee.
For older and more in-efficient properties, grant funding is more likely to cover full costs. If you have a very efficient property, You may need to contribute a small amount to cover the cost of the boiler install this will advised to you before any works are carried out.
How long does installation take?
Most properties can have cavity wall and loft insulation installed in just a few hours, although larger households may require an entire day for installation.
Installers UK is on Your Side
Our team will first arrive at your property in order to take a closer look at the status of the insulation within your loft. If we discover any problems, we will then find out whether or not you are eligible for any type of government aid. Assuming that you are, the project can begin without delay.
Would you like to speak with one of our loft insulation installers to learn more about how we can help? If so, please contact us in order to appreciate if you qualify for a grant. We are also happy to answer any other questions that you may have.
In order to qualify for any of the available government grants, you will need to prove that you are the legal owner of the property, if renting permission will be required from landlord or managing agent, first and foremost .

Benefits of loft insulation
Does your property lack the ‘cosy factor’? If it struggles to stay warm in the winter and cooler in the summer, the chances are your loft may have inadequate insulation. Loft insulation creates a thermal barrier between your rooms below and the roof of your property. It’s typically fitted between the loft’s joists or the roof’s rafters and can last for over 40 years, paying for itself many times over in terms of the savings you enjoy in your energy bills.
Here are five key benefits to loft insulation that you might be able to receive without having to spend a penny of your hard-earned money:
- Ensures your property produces less carbon, limits its environmental impact
- Benefit from a warmer home in winter and a cooler home in summer
- Experience fewer issues with condensation
- Enjoy improved noise reduction in the upper levels of your home
- Improve your home’s Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating, increasing its value and appeal
Tell-tale signs your property has inadequate loft insulation
- Inadequate loft insulation can allow water leaks into your home, damaging interior walls and ceilings
- If pests such as bugs and mice are common in your loft, your insulation may have holes where pests can burrow
- The development of damp and mould in your loft is a sign that more loft insulation is needed
- If you feel your energy bills are higher than usual, it’s important to get your loft insulation inspected by a qualified surveyor

How much can you save on your energy bills?
